Badung – A video circulating on social media captures the sight of a foreign national confined in a minimarket in Bali after going on a rampage and assaulting locals.

Initially, the

Australian national engaged in physical altercation with one of the locals before fleeing the scene. When authorities attempted to apprehend him, he sought refuge inside a minimarket. Subsequently, security personnel or guards locked him inside from the outside.

Head of Public Relations Section of Badung Police, Ipda I Putu Sukarma, confirmed the incident. He revealed that the event took place at a minimarket on Jalan Raya Petitenget, Kelurahan Kerobokan Kelod, District of North Kuta, Badung, Bali, on Thursday (11/4) at 03:30 WITA.

“Yes, there was a foreigner causing disturbance and entering the supermarket,” stated Ipda Sukarma on Friday (12/4).

The foreigner who caused the disturbance was identified as Jhon, an Australian national. Meanwhile, the victim assaulted by the Australian was identified as Charlas Seran Dadiara (29) from Atambua, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The incident began on Thursday (11/4) at 03:10 WITA on the side of Jalan Raya Petitenget, in front of Potato Head, Kelurahan Kerobokan.

At that time, the victim was crossing the road from south to north. He noticed the perpetrator walking from the opposite direction and being pursued by several online motorcycle taxi drivers offering him rides.

Seeing this, the victim stopped for fear that the foreigner might get hit. Unfortunately, as soon as the victim halted, the perpetrator immediately assaulted him several times using both fists clenched towards the victim’s head and face.

The assault left the victim with a bleeding head wound, a laceration on the forehead, bruising around the right eye, swollen lips, and bruised arms.

“Due to the perpetrator being under the influence of alcohol and heavily intoxicated, the investigators cannot interrogate him regarding the assault. The perpetrator has been detained at the North Kuta Police Station,” concluded Sukarma.
