Citilink to launch Denpasar-Melbourne service later this month
Low cost carrier Citilink, a subsidiary of national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, is set to launch its second direct flight to Australia from Denpasar later this month, this time serving passengers from Bali to Melbourne.
The service will fly to Avalon Airport, located in the City of Greater Geelong, an international airport located just outside of the Melbourne metropolitan area.
According to a statement issued by Avalon, the daily return flights will commence on Jan. 24. It departs Bali at 11:45pm and arrives in Melbourne at 8:50am, while the return journey takes off from Melbourne at 12:50pm and lands in Bali at 4:20pm, all in local times.
“Bali is our most requested international destination and one that we have been actively pursuing for some time,” Justin Giddings, CEO of Avalon Airport, was quoted as saying.
Citilink launched its first service to Australia from Bali just last month, with flights from Denpasar to Perth and vice versa. Citilink joins an increasing number of airlines offering direct flights to and from Denpasar recently, which includes a Denpasar – Ho Chi Minh route from Vietnam Airlines that was launched in October.
