A 14-year-old boy in Bali may face up to 15 years in prison for the alleged gruesome murder of a bank teller in Denpasar. The case is moving along this week after police handed over evidence to the Denpasar District Attorney yesterday.

The suspect, identified as PAHP, was arrested in Buleleng regency last month, just a couple of days after the victim, identified as 25-year-old NPW, was found stabbed to death at her home on Dec. 28.

According to reports, NPW suffered from dozens of stab wounds, including on her neck, chest, back, and an open wound on her right palm. Forensic doctors ruled severe blood loss as her cause of death.

I Wayan Eka Widanta, who heads the general crimes unit at the Denpasar District Attorney, said that the suspect has been charged with violation of articles on the Criminal Code (KUHP) on premeditated murder, murder, and assault that leads to death.

Police previously said that PAHP may have been tailing NPW for some time and knew that she lived by herself. The suspect reportedly had a job as a construction worker and was once arrested for robbery in Buleleng.
