While previous reports from local media identified the victim as Ni Kadek Santrika, an official statement from the Bali Police identified the victim by her initials, KCM.
KCM reportedly received injuries to her head, hands, and stomach after the incident, in which Dwi allegedly hit her in the head with a hammer, choked her and stabbed her with scissors after he was caught peeping in her bathroom.
Dwi reportedly ran off while witnesses tried to help KCM, and the police finally arrested him in South Denpasar on June 13.
According to a report from Tribun-Bali, Dwi wasn’t merely peeping, but was actually planning on sexually assaulting KCM.
“Based on our interrogation, the suspect admitted to what he did, which is not only peeping, but also attempting to sexually assault the victim,” Karang Adiputra from the East Denpasar Police told Tribun-Bali.
Meanwhile, a post on Instagram from Bali Post, indicated that Dwi had been attracted to KCM.
